Welcome To Glasgow Acting Academy
The Glasgow Acting Academy offers young people the opportunity to learn and develop techniques in all aspects of drama/acting, musical theatre and the performing arts in a fun and safe envirnonment.
The purpose of the Glasgow Acting Academy is to teach the techniques involved in acting and performance, identify and nurture potential young talent, and allow students the opportunity to develop their personal, social and communications skills which are immediately applicable to their everyday and future life experiences.
Glasgow Acting Academy run two distinct courses in "Acting" and "Musical Theatre" where students attend class for 3 hours each week either in the evening or at the weekend dependent on placement.
The Glasgow Acting Academy is also linked to our sister company, Live & Loud Agency, which manages and promotes young people for work within the TV, film, and media industries. All students of the Glasgow Acting Academy are automatically represented by the agency, which has resulted in many of its young students recently securing professional roles in television and film: see News and Past Students.
At the Glasgow Acting Academy we also realise the importance of performance as a tool in the learning process. Each year, each class of students will be given the opportunity to work towards a main stage performance allowing them to utilise what they have learned whilst giving parents the opportunity to see their children's newly acquired skills.
Glasgow Acting Academy shows range from contemporary and classical plays, to devised pieces of work. Shows are chosen as a means of highlighting student's abilities, as
well as giving the students the opportunity to work towards a real and tangible piece of theatrical performance. |
